Marc Grobman is “unearthed” at Jennifer Joyce Pottery Gallery
Jennifer Joyce Pottery Studio and Gallery presents “unearthed” a solo exhibition of art pottery by Marc Grobman. The gallery is open from 12-5pm, Monday - Friday.
Grobman’s work is abstract yet strikingly familiar. With references to nature, the pieces recall human, plant and animal forms, at once playful, dramatic, grotesque and sensual.
“I like to call it punk pottery,” says Grobman of the thorny, pock-marked vessels, “But there are a lot of other influences. Modern design, outsider art, Antonio Gaudi’s organic shapes, California Funk – it’s all in there.”
Jennifer Joyce Gallery and Pottery Studio is located at 3028 Pico Blvd. in Santa Monica at the corner of 31st Street and Pico Blvd., directly across the street from McCabe’s Guitar Shop and one block west of Trader Joe’s.
