DTS had two ads running this past weekend. He advertises "ocean views" from a building at Wilshire @ Normandie. Seems unlikely unless the building is 100 storeys tall, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Also, the return of my favorite ad: the beautiful blonde stepping out of the swimming pool at a DTS property in Beverly Hills. Someone clumsily photoshopped a red bikini on top of the previous yellow swimsuit. Why bother? Weird!

DTS seemed to be lying low after the unflattering LA Weekly piece. What a pleasant surprise to see that he had not one but two ads in Saturday's LAT, both promoting the Holocaust Memorial service. His mug shot is prominently featured, of course.

Saturday's ads also corrected some of the egregious spelling errors from a couple of weeks ago.

I can't speak or write Hebrew, but I bet if you ran a spell-check on the Hebrew text in the ads you'd find a couple of speling misteaks!

I read that Sterling makes these ads himself! It reminds me of the time he asked the head coach of the Clippers to wrap players ankles so he wouldn't have to hire a trainer. The coach was dumbfounded, and refused.

Love the site. As a designer who has produced many real estate ads, I have to chime in that these ads are terrible eyesores.

PS - While we're keeping it real, it's spelled Angeleno.

Do you know if some company use the same marketing concept as Webkinz?

I'm writing a few articles right now and want to get some info and opinions.

Re: the oft-seen ad showing the beautiful blonde with the fake (but impressive) boobs climbing out of the pool at a Beverly Hills property: Is that someone who actually lives there, or did Donald pick up her image from some free "clip art" site?

Don't change your ads, Donald! They're compellingly amateurish. Volkswagen traded off the "ugly is beautiful" idea for decades.

***I wonder who’s little brother is responsible for the DTS empire artwork!?!? ***

Let's give him a break here. The ads are not bad considering they're done on Commodore 64s that he's too cheap to replace. LOL.

Seriously, in the L.A. Weekly article it mentions a rumor that he actually does the paste up himself with sissors, glue, tape and a marker at his Louis VIIII desk. Can't say how I know, but it's true, trust me on this.

Has anyone noticed that the "rendering" of the Sterling Homeless Center was created using the image of one side of a building and then mirrored to create the other side? Then the "designer" placed a beautiful sign and portico to differentiate the two.

When I used to hang out with a heavy metal friend, he would say that the bad album covers you would see from those bands were made by the "bass players little brother." I wonder who's little brother is responsible for the DTS empire artwork!?!?

I'm so relieved to find this web site. I truly thought I was the only LA Times reader thinking, "Wow, these ads are ugly. And weird. These are ugly, weird ads."

There's an LA weekly article on The Man Himself in today's edition (March 20). It's worth checking out.
